Gary J Mayr VIEW PROFILE

Gary J Mayr

Gary Mayr passed away suddenly on August 4, 2014 in Estes Park, Colorado in a highway accident. He was awaiting a kidney transplant, which was to take place soon. He will be missed very much by his family and friends, and always remembered for his sense of humor and kindness. Gary had very fond memories of some friends at Sharpstown High. He was known for his great beaming smile, his wonderful sense of humor and kindness to all. He had recently moved to Colorado and loved the outdoors there. He moved from Texas to be near our brother Bryan who was going to be the kidney donor. The kidney transplant was scheduled to take place soon. He suffered for over a year and a half with the dialysis procedures, but never complained, and was looking forward to a new chapter in his life. My thanks to those who knew him as a friend in his younger life. He loved music. He was a successful salesman. He was a good person. He did not marry, but was very kind and beloved to his family, including 11 brothers and sisters and over 60 nieces and nephews, and many friends. He had a black Labrador, Sam, that he raised from puppyhood, and Sam died recently at the age of 14. Anyone wishing to send condolences to the family can call his sister Judy at 973-641-8957 or post messages at the website. Stories and remembrances of him are welcome. Thank you for your compassion at this time.

Gary's sister, Judy

I was quite taken aback when I received the sad news as I had just been going through the 1975 SHS yearbook looking at familiar faces.  I always thought Gary was such a handsome fella he was a SR just as my brother Mel Barnes was in 1975.  Prayers for your Family.

Gary always had a smile. He could sell ice to an Eskimo.  Always fun to be with.  Glad I knew him.
